Sydney Symphony Orchestra's Bassoon players
The Sydney Symphony Orchestra is Australia’s flagship Orchestra and performs up to 150 concerts a year to a combined annual audience of more than 350,000. The Orchestra is led by Chief Conductor, Australian-born Simone Young AM, internationally recognised as one of the leading conductors of her generation.
Alongside its international performance season and special events, the SSO provides training to young pre-professional musicians and educational resources to support teachers and students at every educational level, with programs designed to engage with our local communities and extend the enjoyment of Australian music to a global audience.
The Nelson Meers Foundation is proud to continue its support for the 3 extraordinary bassoon players in the Symphony, Todd Gibson-Cornish (Principal Bassoon); Matthew Wilkie (Principal Emeritus Bassoon) and Fiona McNamara.
