Cerebral Palsy Alliance ACT
Speech Enabling Devices
Cerebral Palsy Alliance ACT is committed to providing world-class services for people living with a broad range of disabilities, and their families. They have been supporting people with cerebral palsy in the ACT for 10 years, providing specialised therapy services, new programs and specialised equipment that were previously unavailable in Canberra. Prior to this, families were required to travel to Sydney for treatment.
The Cerebral Palsy Alliance new site, opened in November 2014, is now providing a permanent base for their services, ensuring increased capacity to assist more clients in the region.
Funding from Nelson Meers Foundation has enabled the Centre to purchase equipment and aids that support speech enabling devices which allow adults and children with disabilities to be able to interact with their environment, communicate with their peers, express needs and wants, and call for help.
Why did we fund this project? Communication and community engagement are embedded in our vision for a more cohesive society. We are delighted to be able to support Cerebral Palsy Alliance's use of innovative technology to give their clients greater ability to interact and engage with the world around them.
