Bringing together four distinctive voices in contemporary jazz and improvised music, the quartet features acclaimed cellist and 2026 Doris Duke Artist Tomeka Reid, MacArthur Fellow guitarist Mary Halvorson, bassist Jason Roebke and drummer Tomas Fujiwara.
Known for their adventurous approach to composition and improvisation, these internationally acclaimed musicians are expanding the possibilities of jazz, exploring new musical territory through inventive compositions, fearless experimentation and dynamic collaboration.
While in Sydney for the 2026 Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival, the quartet will also deliver a workshop and masterclass series for local musicians on 22 October, creating opportunities for artistic exchange, learning and creative development.
The Nelson Meers Foundation is delighted to support this presentation, celebrating musical innovation and the artists who continue to challenge conventions and shape the future of contemporary music.
