AusArt Day: Celebrating the power of Australian creativity

On Thursday 22 October, artists and arts organisations from across Australia will come together for AusArt Day, a national fundraising initiative led by Creative Australia to support the ideas, ambitions and creative work shaping our cultural life.

Now in its second year, AusArt Day brings the arts sector together for one powerful day of collective action, encouraging artists and arts organisations to raise funds for projects across all artforms.

The inaugural AusArt Day in 2025 saw more than 300 participating artists and arts organisations collectively raise $2.4 million. This year, more than 350 participants from every state and territory will take part, demonstrating the breadth, diversity and vitality of Australia’s creative community.

Beyond fundraising, Creative Australia’s investment in AusArt Day includes targeted grants, dollar-for-dollar donation matching and professional development to strengthen participants’ fundraising capabilities. This support helps artists and organisations share their stories, communicate the impact of their work and build meaningful connections with those who believe in the value of the arts.

Together, these individual campaigns contribute to a larger national conversation about why the arts matter — from strengthening communities and creating opportunities for connection to challenging perspectives, celebrating diverse voices and enriching our cultural life.
