Following successful cinema seasons in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Adelaide, (and in a number of regional centres), we are very happy to share with you that Welcome To Babel has been selected as one of 4 films nominated for Best Feature Documentary at the upcoming Australian International Documentary Conference, arguably the preeminent documentary award in the country.

It will also shortly be announced that it has been selected for competition at FIFA, a prestigious international festival of films on art held in Montreal in mid-March.

Welcome To Babel recently won the Best Documentary Award in the Orion International Film Festival which runs both in Australia and in Berlin, and remains in contention for a number of other significant festivals and awards both here and overseas. The film has already been broadcast in France, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland by pan European public broadcaster Arte, and hopefully an Australian broadcaster or streamer will pick it up later this year, bringing the film to a much wider Australian audience.

A 1 hour version of Welcome To Babel for educational use together with a study guide for secondary students has been prepared by the Australian Teachers Of Media (ATOM) and they are confident the film will get wide educational usage over many years.
