Detour House aprovides a structured three month rehabilitation program for residents. Clients’ needs are supported by providing a safe and supportive environment for emotional growth. The three month program is designed to enhance physical, mental and emotional well-being.
As well as supported accommodation, case managements, health education and other programs, Detour House runs an Art Therapy Program offering residents an enjoyable and creative outlet to work through their recovery.
Why
Research shows that expressive art therapy can provide successful mental health treatment for women and girls who have experienced trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety and substance abuse. The major goal of the art therapy program will be to work with women and girls in early recovery to reduce the effects of trauma and to positively cope with change.
