Nelson Meers Foundation was delighted to support the work of Red Line Productions, the company that was at the forefront of reigniting Sydney’s legendary and wildly intimate Old Fitz Theatre.
In 2020, Red Line Productions ‘reimagined’ Reg Livermore’s original Betty Blokk-Buster Follies for a contemporary audience, with original material from 1975 updated to reflect current political, gender, and social issues. Of the original, those that saw it experienced a show where things were said that couldn’t be said, but everyone was thinking. This reimagining once again shocked, empowered and most importantly entertained.
Betty Blokk-Buster Reimagined was presented 7 – 26 January 2020 in the Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent as part of the Sydney Festival.
Betty Blokk Buster Reimagined was a leap forward for Red Line Productions, with multiple shows touring around Australia and premiering at national festivals. A remarkable feat for a small independent theatre company.
