We are delighted to be supporting Dr Léuli Eshrāghi in his work with the Art Gallery of NSW. Dr Eshrāghi belongs to the Seumanutafa and Tautau clans of the Sāmoan archipelago, and lives and works in Tiohtià:ke / Mooniyaang / Montréal, Canada. Their artistic and curatorial practice prioritises global Indigenous, Asian and Black visuality, sensual and spoken languages, and ceremonial-political practices.
As an artist, Eshrāghi has presented major works as part of the biennials The National 4: Australian Art Now (2023); MOMENTA Biennale de l’image: Sensing Nature (2021), 22nd Biennale of Sydney: NIRIN (2020), and Sharjah Biennial 14: Leacing the Echo Chamber (2019). As a curator, Eshrāghi currently serves as the inaugural Curator of Indigenous Arts at the Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal and Curatorial Researcher-at-Large for the University of Queensland, Brisbane.
