Blak Cede Gunyah Cafe + Shop

About

Blak Cede is an Aboriginal women-led social and cultural enterprise which cultivates traditional foods from the Kareela Ngura community garden to produce high quality products for their café and online store.  It empowers Koori women from the Shoalhaven area on the South Coast of NSW to lead self-determined lives by providing culturally safe employment and educational opportunities.

Blak Cede is an initiaitve of Waminda, a culturally safe and holistic service, providing women and their Aboriginal families an opportunity to belong and receive quality health and well-being support.  Their vision is for Aboriginal women and (their) families to be leading and living self-determined futures.  Blak Cede is part of Waminda’s ongoing initiative to challenge and disrupt practices, beliefs and barriers that discriminate and marginalise Aboriginal peoples and communities and ensure Aboriginal voices are heard and supported. Blak Cede is unique in its entirety as it is culturally-centred and is committed to keeping its community healthy through culture.

By privileging Aboriginal ways of knowing, being and doing; Blak Cede showcases Aboriginal ownership and rights to traditional bush foods and medicines.  We are delighted to be working with Blak Cede – buy their delicious Deadly Medley Granola online!
