In 2005, the Nelson Meers Foundation supported an exhibition curated by Portrait Artists Australia in which 30 portraits by Australian artists were hung in a special exhibition in the Australian Embassy in Washington D.C, in association with the Annual Conference of the Portrait Society of America.

The aim of the project was to foster an international community of artists and to assist Australian artists in securing international representation.

We were privileged to be able to take some of our contemporary portrait artists to the world stage!
