Wiyi Yani U Thangani Institute (WYUT) in partnership with Create Justice presented a series of arts-led activities highlighting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women’s leadership, peace-building and gender justice on a global stage at the Women Deliver 2026 conference.
The project included a multi-artform exhibition and an interactive conference session.
The exhibition presented powerful stories of strength and connection through photography, film, storytelling and participatory experiences, centring lived experience and matriarchal knowledge while demonstrating the role of art in advancing social change.
The interactive conference session, led by June Oscar AO, explored peace-building through storytelling, deep listening and participatory practice.
The project brought more than 100 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women’s voices to the Women Deliver 2026 conference, contributing to a global dialogue on gender justice.
It will also be documented through a short film, extending the impact of these voices and the project beyond the conference.
