Documentary Australia is a private initiative to provide information and resources to philanthropic grantmakers, charitable organisations and documentary filmmakers in order to explore, share and enhance their mutual objectives of creating a better society. In 2013, Documentary Australia won the prestigious AIDC Stanley Hawes Award for outstanding contribution to the Australia Documentary industry.

Why did we fund this organisation? The Nelson Meers Foundation strongly believes in the effectiveness of documentary as a means of raising awareness of and building momentum on significant social issues, and for this reason we are proudly supporting the future growth of the Documentary Australia.
