James Gleeson (1915 – 2008) was one of Australia’s most important artists. In 2005, the National Gallery of Victoria curated a retrospective of his work, including 120 paintings and works on paper from public, corporate and private collections throughout Australia and overseas, many of which had not been seen since their initial exhibition.
The Nelson Meers Foundation supported the tour of this significant exhibition to the National Gallery of Australia.
