The Life of Patrick White
A free exhibition at The State Library of New South Wales
13 August to 28 October 2012
The Life of Patrick White exhibition marks 100 years since the birth of Australia’s first Nobel Laureate in Literature. This exhibition looks at White’s life through the places he lived and is drawn from the collections of the National Library of Australia and the State Library NSW mostly from the National Library’s collection of his papers and other items, such as his Nobel Prize medal and his writing desk. It not only tells the story of White in all his guises, it also provides great insight into the post-war Australian arts scene.
