Milk Crate Theatre were announced the winners of the Macquarie Group Foundation Australian Social Innovation Award for its contributions through theatre to the homeless communities of Sydney.

The Sydney Story Factory is now open! Over 50 companies donated their goods or expertise to create The Martian Embassy at 176 Redfern Street, Redfern.  All teachers are invited to bring a class of students in for a two-hour book-making workshop.

The Life of Patrick White
A free exhibition at The State Library of New South Wales

The Life of Patrick White exhibition marks 100 years since the birth of Australia’s first Nobel Laureate in Literature. This exhibition looks at White’s life through the places he lived and is drawn from the collections of the National Library of Australia and the State Library NSW mostly from the National Library’s collection of his papers and other items, such as his Nobel Prize medal and his writing desk. 

A Curator’s Last Will and Testament

The 11½ minute film A Curator’s Last Will and Testament will be shown at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in the Yiribana foyer, lowest level 3.

The film will screen continuously during opening hours from 6th – 20th August 2012.

Visible Theatre is primarily a mentoring initiative, resulting in two public performances at Carriageworks. This will be a verbatim theatrical work meaning that Milk Crate Theatre Ensemble's words and conversations will be used to generate a performance exploring the concept 'What is the opposite of loneliness?'

Jordana Maisie. Close Encounters is a large-scale (6.5m diameter) interactive sculpture, which takes the form of an unidentified flying object (UFO).

Fearless is a Milk Crate Theatre main stage production which investigates the many portals of loneliness. Eleven characters inhabit the world of Fearless, distilled by composer Daryl Wallis, chanteuse Christa Hughes and playwright Mirra Todd.

LEGS ON THE WALL

Legs On The Wall has been invited by the Arts Council of England to create a spectacular outdoor performance with UK based, Motionhouse Dance Theatre.Taking place in Victoria Square, Birmingham.

The Voyage will be performed on four consecutive nights from 21 – 24 June 2012.
