D O C S O C I A L Impact Documentary Series
INSPIRE. ENGAGE. CHANGE.

Documentary Australia Foundation (DAF) have teamed up with EVENT Cinemas and Village Cinemas to present D O C S O C I A L – showcasing the very best social impact documentary films, one each month for ten months in celebration of DAF’s ten-year anniversary.

What if people around Australia came together to watch the same social impact documentary each month and became a lasting part of that film’s impact?

Are you passionate about the real issues that affect our society? Want a place where you and like-minded mates can watch the best feature length, social impact documentaries on the big screen?

Each month starting in March we can see life-changing documentaries about the issues that matter. Select months will feature an exclusive Q&A with special guests from the film industry and not for profit sector to highlight the lasting impact these films have had, and how we can get involved.

There will be 1.00pm matinees as well as a 6.30pm after-work screenings. In Sydney and Melbourne guests are invited to stay for a drink after the screening and Q&A, and mingle with other socially conscious documentary lovers.

The first 5 months’ screenings to be featured around Australia are:

I AM A GIRL, 8 March 2018 (International Women's Day)

THE WILL TO FLY, 11 April 2018 (to coincide with the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace)

YOU SEE MONSTERS, 16 May 2018 (International Day of Living Together in Peace)

THE BAULKHAM HILLS AFRICAN LADIES TROUPE, 20 June 2018 (World Refugee Day)
